User Manual

Starting View: The map opens in Explorer Mode, showing all available 3D buildings. The sidebar is ready for you to search.
Sidebar Toggle (❯ / ❮): Click the arrow button on the edge of the sidebar to collapse or expand it.
View Modes (Heritage / Explorer):
- Heritage Mode: Displays only JomKL's curated heritage sites and landmarks. Click any highlighted 3D building on the map to see its details in the sidebar.
- Explorer Mode: Shows the full 3D cityscape. Clicking standard buildings might not show detailed JomKL info.
Searching for Places:
- Type a place name (e.g., "Petronas Towers", "Muzium Negara") into the search bar and press Enter or click the 🔍 icon.
- Search results will appear. Heritage sites from JomKL's database are prioritized and marked with a icon.
- Clicking a search result will center the map, place a marker, and show its details (for heritage sites) or basic location info in the sidebar.
Searching within a Category:
- First, click a category in the "Cultural Heritages" legend (e.g., "Museum"). The sidebar will list all museums, and the search bar placeholder will update (e.g., "Search within Museum...").
- Now, if you type in the search bar, results will be filtered to show only locations that are both in Nominatim's results for your query AND belong to the selected "Museum" category in JomKL's database.
- If no results are found within the category, a "Search all places?" button will appear, allowing you to broaden your search.
Legend Box ("Cultural Heritages"):
- Click any colored category (e.g., "Nature Reserve," "Museum") to list all sites of that type in the sidebar and scope your subsequent searches to that category.
- Click the "Cultural Heritages" title in the legend to list *all* curated heritage sites in the sidebar and reset the search to global.
Viewing Site Details:
- Clicking a JomKL heritage site (on the map, from search results, or from a legend list) displays its detailed information, including description, opening hours, and a button to plan a route to it.
- When viewing site details, the search bar reverts to global search mode.
Back Button (): Appears in the sidebar header after you navigate. Click it to return to your previous view in the sidebar (e.g., from site details back to search results or a legend list; from a list back to the initial search prompt).
Clear Button (🗑️): Clears the current search input, search results, any map highlights, and temporary markers. It also resets the sidebar to the initial search state and clears any active legend category scope.
Rotation Buttons (⟲ / ⟳): Rotate the 3D map view 10 degrees left or right with each click.
Keyboard Tips:
- Press Esc to close this User Manual.
- Use your mouse wheel or trackpad to zoom in/out on the map.
